What we have been up to lately...in a nutshell

The kids helped make breakfast, I mean dinner, I mean breakfast...

We went to a football game... (many, actually)

Brainwashed the kids into liking soccer and basketball...
(not sure if "posing" is part of soccer or basketball but it's what Allison wanted to do)

and set up our Christmas tree

A Boy and His Train

I was sick one day and my parents already had plans to go to a train show that same day and offered to help me out with Braden. He loves "choo choos" and loves his grandparents so it sounded like the perfect combination. We put on his train shirt and (of course) the train hat and that little boy ran out the door to go to Grandma's house before I could shove a morsel of breakfast into him. Part of the excitement stemmed from getting to ride in "Papa's twuck" but that's an excitement I can relate to.

(my favorite with his little ears sticking out. Happens everytime with this hat)

He came home with a little wooden train and spent over 30 minutes on our coffee table simply pushing it and walking around the table in circles. Over and over and over again. It was bliss to sit and watch and listen.

Chug chug chug chug CHOO CHOO!

General Conference and Makayla Turns 9!

My baby girl is 9 and I have no idea how it happened. Nonetheless, she had a party...

I don't know why they look so worried about what Makayla was opening but it is pretty funny!

"Why, oh why, are there so many girls in my house?"

So twice a year our church broadcasts a General Conference with talks given by our Prophet and other leaders of our church to provide counsel and encouragement. One of the sessions is directed toward the men and so my dad, Steve and brother in law all went together. It's a pretty big tradition for us gals to then make cinnamon rolls to enjoy for breakfast the next day while watching another session of the Conference. Our 8 year old photographer documented it for us.

Sadly, this year it included some violence on my mom's part and I have the evidence to prove it.

It was worth it. Breakfast was soooo good!

Our two year olds turned into cats during the process too.
